Course Overview

This course is designed for learners with Special Educational Needs who wish to learn core life and independent living skills, in order to develop their personal, social and educational wellbeing. This course will put you on track to being confident with making your own decisions and living more independently.

During this course learners will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of trips, world of work experiences and engaging guest speakers throughout the year.

All resources for this course will be provided but it will be beneficial to bring a notebook and pen.

Course Information

Entry Level 1-2 learners with special educational needs.

You will work with your tutor to assess your needs set your own personal targets. You will complete a folder of work in each subject area, gathering evidence from a variety of innovative assessments methods including computer work, photographic evidence and video.

Your tutor will mark your work and meet with you to give you feedback.

Towards the end of each academic year, you will be able to discuss progression opportunities with your tutor.

You may go on to a Forward Focus at the end of your studies if you have shown sufficient progression. You may also wish to move into independent living, community provision or voluntary work.

Redditch

Redditch has many links to surrounding towns with a circular around Redditch itself including Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Kings Heath, Evesham, Droitwich, Solihull, Worcester, and Birmingham. The train and bus stations are in close proximity to one another and are a short walk to Peakman Campus and a slightly longer walk to Alliance House.
