Our College Wellbeing Service is there for all our students experiencing difficulties or concerns regarding their health, emotional well-being, mental health, accommodation, sexual health and relationships.
We provide a safe space for our students to explore and overcome barriers to learning by offering one to one support where they can build coping strategies and resilience, improve their mental wellbeing and succeed at college.
We have a duty of care to safeguard each and every learner at HoW College, and we aim to not only empower our students but equip them with the skills needed to keep themselves safe and reach their full potential. We provide education, advice and guidance on topics such as bullying, staying safe online, healthy relationships, and recognising potential harm or threat to yourself or others.
As part of this we offer:
- Induction sessions detailing how to access support
- THRIVE tutorial sessions on safeguarding subjects
- Guest speakers
- Dedicated specialist staff to support you
- All staff are trained on safeguarding
- Excellent links to external services
Alongside our sessions, The PREVENT Strategy ensures that safeguards are in place to identify and protect our learners from being drawn into illegal activities associated with extremism, radicalisation and terrorism.
You can access our Wellbeing team in Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcester campuses, where you can chat to our team about a range of issues.
HoW R U Hubs
Our HoW R U Hubs are spaces for students to spend their time in to chill and relax, to have fun, and attend activities throughout the academic year and attended by our Student Experience team who can be found on our campuses.
At HoW RU Hub, our mission is to champion a holistic approach to student wellbeing—supporting every learner’s physical, emotional, social, spiritual and academic journey throughout their time at college. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where students can thrive personally and academically.
Through integrated support services—including Careers Guidance, Wellbeing and Safeguarding Support, Academic Support, and Student Engagement—we ensure that every learner has access to the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to succeed. These teams will plan and facilitate a wide range of events, competitions, activities, and speakers via the Hub Calendar.
Our goal is to help students become Life Ready, equipped with the confidence, resilience, and essential life skills to navigate their future with purpose and positivity.
Cafés
Spend time with your fellow students and friends with our campus Cafés at Bromsgrove, Redditch and Worcester campuses.
Our Cafés are a great place to chill in-between classes, come along and have lunch or grab a milkshake and a cake, and spend time with your friends without needing to head out of campus.
